Audrey Edith Marquardt Halstead

Audrey E. Halstead, age 81, of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday July 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Atrium Post Acute Care where she had been a resident for the past four years. Audrey was born in the town of Lyndon, on October 14, 1934 to the late Walter and Evelyn (Brooks) Marquardt. She attended Waldo schools and graduated from Waldo High School. On November 18, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Halstead at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Cascade, where they were lifetime members. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. Audrey retired from Specialty Packaging in 1995 where she had been employed for 40 years. Audrey had an abundance of love for her family and friends and spending time with them was one of her favorite things to do. She also had a soft spot for horses and she thoroughly enjoyed riding and taking care of them. When she wasnt attending to the horses, you could find her gardening. Audrey is survived by her two sons, Scott Halstead of Grand Forks, ND, and Kevin (Lisa) Halstead of Howards Grove, WI; two granddaughters, Tiffany Halstead of Plymouth, WI, and Tasha (Tyler) Clemons Halstead of Salem, OR; two sisters, Caroline Gerth of Jefferson, WI, and Linda (Norman) Racak of Gwinn, MI; along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by her brothers, Alois Marquardt, Roland Marquardt, Donald Marquardt, Gary Marquardt; a sister-in-law Carol Marquardt; and a brother-in-law George Gerth. A funeral service for Audrey will be held on Monday July 25, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Cascade, with Reverend Richard Bidinger officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Pauls Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church, 509 Milwaukee Ave., Cascade, on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00. A memorial fund has been established in Audreys name. Audreys family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Atrium Post Acute for their kindness and love they showed Audrey for the past four years. They would also like to thank Allay Home & Hospice for their care and support the last few months of Audreys life.
