Donald J. Zipperer

Donald J. Zipperer, 86 of a resident at the Azura Memory Care Center in Sheboygan passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan following a brief illness. Donald was born in Kellnersville on March 18, 1931 a son to the late Joseph and Mayme (Zeman) Zipperer and was raised on the family farm in the town of Rhine. He attended schools in Howards Grove. Upon the death of his parents he moved to the Sheboygan County Comprehensive Center and later to the Abode in Sheboygan. For many years he had proudly worked at the Rehabilitation Center of Sheboygan, retiring in 1998. His great love was swimming doing it almost daily at the YMCA. Donald enjoyed collecting watches and radios. Having been brought up on a farm he treasured his collection of John Deere Tractors. He also enjoyed painting pictures through the Alzheimer Assoc. Memories in the Making Program. Donald is survived by cousins and other friends and caretakers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. A funeral service for Donald will be held 1 PM, Monday, September 25 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Philip Reifenberg, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 123 South Street, Plymouth on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of service.
