Verla Kelling Obituary

Verla A. Kelling, age 86, of Knoxville, TN., passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 Verla was born on May 4, 1930 to the late Fred and Ida (Bub) Goelzer and lived almost her entire life in the Crystal Lake area. She was married to Robert Kelling on February 12, 1949. Before her retirement she worked for the Sheboygan County Lime Pit as a secretary and equipment operator. She enjoyed swimming, canoeing and traveling. Verla was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake. Verla is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert; her sons, Scott (Cathy) Kelling, Tom Kelling and Craig (Marci) Kelling; a daughter, Sherry (Patrick) Wagner; her grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Fuerst, James Kelling, Elizabeth Kelling, Emma (Jeff) Baker, Dylan Kelling and Samantha Stewart and her great grandchildren, Carson and Karolina Fuerst. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Jean Kelling and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Alvin Kelling. A memorial service for Verla will be held 12 Noon on Saturday, July 30 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake with Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Glenbeulah. Family and friends may visit at the church, 210 Lincoln Ave. on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon. The Wittkopp funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting Verlas family.
