Robert M. De Mey, 83, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly at St. Nicholas Hospital on August 5, 2019.
Robert was born on March 13, 1936 in Plymouth, a son to the late Martin and Ellen (Neest) De Mey. He attended area schools and served in the Army in Germany. In 1963 he married Donna Perl. Robert was employed as a mechanic and later as an inspection foreman for Tecumseh. He retired from Tecumseh after over 30 years of employment. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, football and especially old cars, attending many car shows over the years.
Robert is survived by three daughters: Christine De Mey, of Montana; Robin De Mey Couch of Sheboygan; Julie De Mey of Plymouth; one son: Robert De Mey, II of Sheboygan Falls, and the mother of his children, the love of his life, Donna De Mey of Plymouth. He is further survived by three grandchildren: Joseph (Angel) De Mey, Jenika De Mey, and Tyler Couch, and three great grandchildren: Aiden, Xavier and Elhyme (Ellie). He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Rose De Mey.
A private memorial service will be held at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Denise Kwiatkowski, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth with military rites accorded.
