Robert W. Hermes

Robert W. Hermes, "Bob" 82, of Adell passed away at his home on Wednesday morning, January 4, 2017 following an extended illness. Bob was born on July 30, 1934 in Outagamie County, a son to the late William and Agnes (Vanstepout) Hermes. After graduating from high school he served in the Army Reserve. In August of 1962 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jansen. They lived in Sheboygan until moving to Adell in 1969. Betty preceded him in death on December 25, 2004. Bob co-owned and operated Adell Auto Body until his retirement. He always enjoyed giving out candy to the kids who would come into the body shop. Bob enjoyed many activities among them Bingo which he enjoyed at the Batavia Fire Department having made good friends there over the years. He was also active with activities at the Adell Senior Center and enjoyed drag racing. Bob is survived by a daughter, Connie (Glenn) Sixel of Nevada; two sons, Tony (Fay) Hermes of Sheboygan and Pat Hermes (special friend, Nancy Stokdyk) of Adell; a grandson, Jim (Phylis) Hermes stationed with the Navy at Camp Pendleton, CA; three great grandchildren and a sister, Germaine (Earl) Scheidt of Crivitz. Nieces, nephews and other family and friends further survive. A memorial service for Bob will be held 6 PM, Friday, January 13 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Dennis Van Beek officiating. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South St., Plymouth on Friday from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM. A memorial fund has been established in Bobs name.
